SESSIONS CAN INCLUDE:

DJing

young people will learn how to:

operate professional DJ equipment safely

continuously mix music from one deck to another

create a recording of their DJ mix to take home (per 90min session – maximum of 20 young people rotated in groups of 4/5)

Electronic Music Production

young people will learn how to:

operate professional music equipment safely

create & arrange drum, bass, chord, and melody loops to create an instrumental piece of music

leave with their finished product on disc or mp3 (per 90min session – maximum of 8 young people rotated in groups of 4)

Song Writing & Recording

Young people will learn how to:

Experiment with and apply – various song writing techniques to create a song personal to themselves

Apply a professional song structure

Safely use professional equipment to record their written vocals

Leave with their finished product on disc or mp3 (per 90min session – maximum of 20 young people)

Method:

Each activity is achieved by:

Creating a fun and nurturing environment

Breaking down tasks that seem difficult – into smaller manageable tasks

Moving at the pace of the individual – whilst supporting and encouraging them  to challenge themselves further

sharing skills, experiences and achievements between the group

using ‘How to’ sheets to aid in the understanding of technical information

Delivery:  Can be delivered as a one off activity or series of workshops, usually over 6 weeks.

Maximum number of young people: 10

Delivery Requirements: Safe and quiet space, tables and chairs, electricity supply

Availability: Spring Term 8th January – 12th April 2019

Weekday evenings: Tuesday, Thursday and Friday

Weekends: Daytime.

Activities and sessions can be designed or modified to suit your requirements.
